INTRODUCTION TO INNER CHILD WORK

1. There is a part inside you and me (and everyone else) which never grows up and never needs to grow up.

  2. No matter how many years we have lived, there are other parts of us that would like to grow up a bit more and some parts that (definitely) need to grow up.

Everything you do is influenced by whatever your inner child is thinking and feeling at that time.
Your inner child is an incredibly real and very powerful part of your personality.
Only when you are fully aware of your own inner child and what she  or he is thinking and saying and doing each day can you begin to grow your self-awareness and self empowerment.

Inner Child Checklist - Is this a bit like you?

U If your inner child is often unhappy you will often feel unhappy.
U If your inner child is often lonely you will often feel lonely.
U
If your inner child feels abandoned you will feel very sad or very    uncomfortable when someone abandons you

U      If your inner child feels smothered you may feel panic or extreme discomfort when someone gets too close to you emotionally

U If your inner child is frightened you will feel blocked, trapped, unable to move or make the positive changes in your life or achieve what you really want to with your life. Yet these are the changes you want, the changes that really make a difference.
U If your inner child often feels forgotten you will feel out of touch, unsure of who you really are.
U If your inner child feels that he or she is the only part of you that can solve your problems you will notice yourself using solutions that are more like a kid's way than a grown-up's.
U If your inner child does not feel loved and protected by you (his or her grown-up self) you will have difficulty giving or receiving love. Linking really closely with others who love you will begin well but it will keep on breaking down.
U If inner children do not feel they have any value they get trapped in power and control games which often includes devaluing or disempowering other people.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU RECONNECT WITH YOUR OWN INNER CHILD?

Once your Inner Child feels safe and protected and "the grown-up you" talks to and listens to him or her (regularly) things start to change. (This is something that's very easy to start doing)
You will notice that you are making amazing changes in your life, expanding your grown-up self awareness and increasing your sense of grown-up self-empowerment.

These positive changes are enhanced even more when you discuss what you are doing and thinking with your inner child's internal protector characters. Psychologists call this  dialoguing your inner protector characters* or  meeting and talking with your own sub-personalities,  It really doesn't matter what you call them or how you do it - it's easy to do and it works...
